Phoenix, AZ: The Open Design Alliance (ODA) today announced the beta release of version 3.1 of its development platform, delivering support for DWG 2010 files. The release also includes a number of new features for both DWGdirect™ and DGNdirect™, including overruling and subdivision mesh surface support for DWG, and greatly improved DGN rendering which now supports dimensions, level overrides, and lineweights.
When asked about the release, Chief Technical Officer of the ODA, Neil Peterson, responded, “Our goal with version 3.1 is to provide our members with stable, high quality access to DWG 2010. We received positive feedback from our alpha release in July, and our newly expanded QA team has put this latest beta version through a comprehensive and rigorous testing process. Based on this, we strongly encourage our members to start incorporating version 3.1 into their applications and testing it.”
He further added, “Our development teams are on stand-by ready to address any problems that are found with the new DWG 2010 support. Within the next couple of months we will either upgrade the status of 3.1 to a full production release, or deliver an update that is certified for production use. We also have PDF underlay rendering in the works for later this year, as well as initial access to parametric constraints data.”
Version 3.1 is available immediately.
