NEEDHAM, MA - PTC® (Nasdaq: PMTC), The Product Development Company®, today announced the appointment of Robert P. Schechter to its Board of Directors.

Most recently, Mr. Schechter served as chairman and chief executive officer at NMS Communications (now known as LiveWire Mobile), serving as chief executive officer from 1995 to 2008. Prior to NMS Communications, Mr. Schechter held positions of chief financial officer and senior vice president at Lotus Development Corporation and was responsible for all sales, marketing, customer service and product development activities outside of North America, as well as Lotus global consulting services.
Previously, Mr. Schechter was a Partner at Coopers & Lybrand LLP and served as Chairman of the North East Region High Tech Practice.
Mr. Schechter currently serves on the Board of Unica Corporation. Mr. Schechter's previous board positions include LiveWire Mobile Inc., Moldflow Corporation, MapInfo Corporation, Infinium Software and Soapstone Networks.
