LAS VEGAS - Dassault Systèmes (DS) (Paris:DSY) today announced that the Boston Apparel Group has selected Dassault Systèmes’ ENOVIA V6 solution including the ENOVIA Apparel Accelerator for Design and Development and the ENOVIA Apparel Accelerator for Sourcing and Production to provide the foundation for managing the company’s key business processes and ensuring the delivery of new product lines.
Spun out of the Redcats Group in late 2008, the Boston Apparel Group is responsible for the development of Chadwick’s and MetroStyle, two of North America’s top catalogue brands. In addition to establishing the key business processes from scratch, the Boston Apparel Group was faced with the challenge of effectively managing a global supply chain of between 30 to 40 factories in North America and Asia to deliver new products to market at cost, to specification and on time.
“The establishment of a new company provided us with a once in a generation opportunity to shape the way we do business by building a platform that could grow with us as we build for long term success. However, to be successful it was imperative that we selected a strategic technology partner that would enable us to develop new products quickly and cost effectively while also collaborating with the critical elements of the supply chain including suppliers, agents and manufacturers,” said David Blakelock, vice president, Technology, Boston Apparel Group. “After careful consideration we are confident that Dassault Systèmes’ track record in the retail, footwear and apparel industry, best practices and comprehensive approach to PLM will provide a key element of our long term strategic roadmap.”
In replacing the incumbent PTC solution, the Boston Apparel Company will combine the power of the ENOVIA V6 platform and the two Apparel Accelerators to address the entire scope of the product delivery cycle from initial design through sourcing to production and retail. By offering an out-of-the box solution combined with the industry’s best practices the implementation should be completed in a matter of weeks enabling the Boston Apparel Group to enhance supply chain efficiencies and to begin realizing return on investment more rapidly. To speed the design process, the ENOVIA solution will also enable the company to integrate Adobe Illustrator files, via the Collaboration for Adobe Illustrator product, while capturing data from its existing ERP implementation.
“The successful launch of a new company can often be determined by how effectively they manage the core business fundamentals. Within this context product lifecycle management is becoming a mission critical element in tying together key business processes, technologies, functions and partners,” said Michel Tellier, CEO, ENOVIA, Dassault Systèmes. “The Dassault Systèmes V6 solution, combined with the out-of-the box capabilities of the ENOVIA solution, provides an ideal approach for companies making a strategic technology investment that will create greater efficiencies, enhance global collaboration and ultimately drive competitive advantage.”
