Teamcenter and NX to Provide Product Data Management and 3D Design.
COLOGNE, Germany - Siemens PLM Software today announced that GMN PAUL MÜLLER INDUSTRIE GMBH & CO. KG (GMN) selected NX™ software and Teamcenter® software to optimize processes and enhance design.
The Nuremberg-based manufacturer of ball bearings, spindles, freewheel clutches and non-contact seals will use Teamcenter, Siemens PLM Software's digital lifecycle management solution and the world’s most widely used PLM portfolio, to standardize its product data management. NX, Siemens PLM Software’s comprehensive digital product development solution, will be used in the migration of GMN’s design department from 2D to 3D. Siemens PLM Software is also providing support and training services in addition to the software.
Prior to selecting Siemens PLM Software, GMN conducted an extensive benchmark test to confirm that Teamcenter and NX would meet the company’s stringent requirements.
“GMN’s selection of Siemens PLM Software following a detailed evaluation process provides further validation that our solutions are right on target,” said Martien Merks, senior vice president and managing director, Germany, Siemens PLM Software. “We place great emphasis on helping our customers realize their vision through PLM and enabling them turn more ideas into successful products.”
GMN, which mostly manufactures on the basis of customer orders for special applications, selected Teamcenter to provide efficient and accurate product data management capabilities. The company’s IT environment consisted of too many incongruous components and was no longer capable of satisfying the growing requirements of the company. NX was selected to enhance efficiency and optimize processes by helping the company migrate from 2D to 3D design as well as to provide compatibility with the existing ERP environment.
