Combined solution targets manufacturers seeking to accelerate innovation and new product introductions by integrating manufacturing operations with process planning applications.
LONG BEACH, CA — Apriso®, a provider of manufacturing software solutions for sustained operations excellence, and Dassault Systèmes announced today that a Component Application Architecture (CAA) Software Partnership Agreement has been signed. Under this agreement, Apriso will deliver the integration between its suite of applications and Dassault Systemes’ DELMIA Digital Manufacturing solutions. The resulting integrated solution will significantly improve quality and shorten time to market for new product introductions for customers in the Automotive, Industrial Equipment and Consumer Goods industries.
"Dassault Systèmes' manufacturing customers can benefit from our partnership with Apriso by achieving continuity of design and planning into execution thereby improving product and process innovation by incorporating feedback from the execution system" said Patrick Michel, vice president, DELMIA Solutions and Marketing at Dassault Systèmes.
This new combined solution addresses the challenge of sharing information between design and planning and production execution. Synchronizing Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) from digital manufacturing systems with the actual physical production processes ensures correct component version and process plans are used consistently in manufacturing and assembly, resulting in faster new product introductions and higher quality.
"Choosing a tightly integrated, preconfigured solution that links operations to PLM design systems makes a lot of sense. Design timelines can be compressed, products can be accelerated and overall quality can be elevated. A combined Apriso and Dassault Systèmes solution offers a compelling value proposition to those manufacturers seeking to achieve these objectives," stated Dick Slansky, ARC Advisory Group.
Apriso's CAA V5 partnership with Dassault Systèmes initially addresses customer needs in the following areas:
* Business Integration to propagate configured product, process plan and work instructions from design and process planning to the execution system in a change controlled environment
* 3D Visual Production to enable shop floor users to visualize product and process information in 3D and to record information directly by selecting components or parts
"Manufacturers are challenged to roll engineering changes and new products into manufacturing without impacting manufacturing costs, takt time or quality levels," commented Eric Green, vice president solution strategy and business development at Apriso. "Apriso ensures the DELMIA processes are executed precisely according to the digital manufacturing design intent, as detailed within Dassault Systèmes' applications. This integration accelerates engineering change with full product integrity."
