Major additions include Silverlight controls, barcode writing capabilities, drag-and-drop web thumbnails, comment annotations, support for TWAIN 2.0, and light-weight web scanning.
EASTHAMPTON - Atalasoft, Inc., the leading provider of imaging components and technology for Microsoft .NET Framework-based developers, announces the release of DotImage 8.0, the latest version of its .NET imaging toolkit. Atalasoft continues to save customers time and money when building enterprise content management (ECM) and electronic medical record (EMR) solutions.
Atalasoft’s DotImage 8.0 introduces Microsoft Silverlight viewing and annotating controls and a new barcode writing toolkit. In addition, Atalasoft extended its industry-leading AJAX imaging toolkit with drag-and-drop thumbnails, the ability to add a thread of comments to any annotation, and a control that makes web scanning easy to integrate with JavaScript. As a member of the TWAIN Working Group, Atalasoft continues its commitment to TWAIN with support for 64-bit and TWAIN 2.0 drivers.
Atalasoft also expanded its support and maintenance program. With the new release, every copy of DotImage and its add-ons are now delivered with twelve months of priority support. This includes telephone support with Atalasoft’s Massachusetts-based .NET and imaging specialists, priority in the support queue, and free product upgrades for the duration of the maintenance contract.
“Atalasoft is committed to bringing the developer community the best tools and support possible while keeping our components reasonably priced,” said William Bither, Founder & CEO of Atalasoft. “We recognize the need for budget-strained development shops to produce differentiated applications quickly. Our revised licensing maintains desktop royalty free licensing while reducing the up-front development costs,” Bither says in reference to the new DotImage license agreement in which additional developers in a team pay only one-third the cost of the first license.
Popular add-on components are also available for DotImage and including: PDF viewing, TWAIN and ISIS scanning, OCR for .NET & Searchable PDF creation, .NET barcode recognition, DICOM support, CAD support, and JPEG2000 and JBIG2 codecs.
