Catalog Data Solutions Catalog adopted by Gates Corporation Industrial Power Transmission Business Unit.
San Jose, CA: Catalog Data Solutions (CDS), a leading provider of online product selection tools for industrial suppliers and distributors, today announced that Gates Corporation’s Industrial Power Transmission business unit has adopted a CDS designed and developed online catalog, including CAD model downloads, called PartView™.
Gates manufacturers, supplies and supports V-belt and synchronous belt drive systems.
“Belt information sheets and CAD drawings for metal previously found in Design View® software are now available through PartView™ - the new Industrial Power Transmission electronic catalog with 2D/3D CAD files,” said Todd Mueller, Manager, Business Development, at Gates Corporation. “In addition, PartView™ enables customers to quickly find components and technical information on standard products.
PartView™ features include:
• Part number search
• Parametric search by drill-down
• Detailed product information, including specifications, PDF catalog page, 2D specification sheets and 3D CAD models”
“We are delighted that Gates Corporation has selected CDS for their Industrial Power Transmission Catalog and CAD downloads,” said John Major, CEO Catalog Data Solutions. “Studies show that over 90% of designers and engineers now use the Internet to locate components for their new designs. Parametric and attribute based catalogs are vital sales and marketing tools for all industrial manufacturers and distributors to ensure their products are easy to find and select online. Once a product is selected, offering 3D CAD model downloads often ‘locks’ products into a design so suppliers later benefit from the sales success of that design.”
