ANN ARBOR, Michigan — CIMdata, Inc., a global strategic PLM management consulting and research firm, announced today that Peter A. Bilello has been named President. Mr. Bilello succeeds Ed Miller, who passed away on June 6, 2010. Mr. Bilello, who has been acting President since Mr. Miller went on medical leave, has been serving as CIMdata’s Vice President since July 2008. Mr. Bilello, who joined the company in 1997 as a Senior Consultant, served as CIMdata’s Director of Consulting Services for five years prior to becoming Vice President.
Commenting on Mr. Bilello’s appointment, Mr. Alan Christman, CIMdata’s Chairman said, “This promotion recognizes the outstanding contributions that Peter has made to our team over the last fourteen years and the key leadership role he has played in defining and supporting CIMdata’s expanding business and global operations.” He added that, “in many ways Peter provides stability and continuity by representing the past, present, and future of CIMdata. Under his leadership, CIMdata has expanded its presence in a number of emerging markets, including China, South Korea, Taiwan, Mexico, India, and South Africa. He has also been instrumental in the development and expansion of our consulting and educational services for industrial companies. PLM Transformation and our new CIMdata Leadership assessment-based certificate programs are two such examples. CIMdata, led by Peter, is in an excellent position to build upon its 27 years of service to the PLM user and supplier community.”
“I am proud and humbled at the same time to be taking over CIMdata’s Presidency from Ed Miller. He was a colleague and friend for many years and will be missed, but the business he helped build continues with a strong management team,” commented Mr. Bilello. He went on to say, “Over the years, CIMdata has attracted and retained a very senior group of directors and consultants who continue to shape the company’s growth.” With Mr. Bilello’s promotion to President, CIMdata has also promoted Mr. John MacKrell to Vice President. Mr. MacKrell has been a key resource for CIMdata since 1990. He joins Mr. Christman, who has been CIMdata’s Chairman since 2005 and a world-renowned NC specialist since joining CIMdata in 1992, and Mr. James Watch, Secretary/Treasurer on the Board of Directors. In addition, Mr. Gerard Litjens, who has been with CIMdata since 2000 has been named CIMdata’s Director of European Operations. Mr. Litjens has been a valued leader of CIMdata’s growing European business for many years. Finally, Mr. Ken Amann, CIMdata’s Director of Research since 2001, rounds out CIMdata’s management team.
Mr. Bilello has more than 22 years of experience in the development of information technology solutions for research, engineering, and manufacturing organizations worldwide. He has held various positions in Product Lifecycle Management strategic direction, analysis, selection, and implementation, CAD/CAM/CAE/CIM implementation, synchronous and lean manufacturing consulting, and software engineering. In addition to the management position he has held in CIMdata, Mr. Bilello held various management positions in two of his previous employers, Perot Systems and EDS.
Mr. Bilello’s education includes a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science with a minor in Physics from the California State University, Fullerton, and a Masters of Science in Engineering degree in Manufacturing Systems Engineering from The University of Michigan.
