New Delhi: Dassault Systèmes and JBM group, the largest sheet metal component manufacturer for automobile and white goods industry in India, have entered into a strategic partnership aimed at large scale technology deployment across JBM group’s SBUs. The two companies have announced a partnership to build synergies leveraging their inherent expertise in the Automotive & Aerospace sector.
The senior minds in the two companies are working towards a common vision of enhanced engineering services for various sectors.
The relationship will be extended to JBM Group’s recent education initiative – “CADMIND” that focuses on high end design engineering education in India. CADMIND is first of its kind move by an auto component manufacturer to develop in-house capabilities for design, engineering, simulation and testing. Under the agreement, Dassault Systemes will provide latest software to CADMIND enabling engineering students and professionals to create, share and experience the best in 3D. It will also provide them the exposure to the latest developments in design engineering.
Over the next 3 years they will set up 50 centres for services and imparting training to auto designers and engineers with an investment of Rs 100 crore. By 2009 end, four centers are expected to be set up in the capital.
On this occasion, Mr. Nishant Arya, Executive Director, JBM Group said “India is soon becoming the design hub for the global automotive industry. CADMIND will act as a catalyst in grooming and creating best design engineers in India helping capture this great opportunity coming our way”.

The alliance will empower the JBM group with Dassault Systemes’ vast experience in working with Indian automotive companies in creating, designing and delivering innovative engineering services using its world leading PLM solutions.

With the Indian auto component and manufacturing industry rapidly evolving, the indigenous designing aspect has gained great momentum in the recent past.
JBM has also tied up with Tata Technologies and MSC Software to develop the training programmes.
Going beyond the focus on skilled/ trained man-power, Dassault Systemes PLM solutions will empower JBM Group to create better engineered and advanced technology products to drive higher returns-on-investment and competitiveness in a globalized manufacturing eco-system.
