At this year’s EuroMold, OPEN MIND Technologies AG will present both new and enhanced features and technologies in their CAD and CAM solutions. The main focus at Stand N01 in Hall 8.0 is the release of hyperMILL® 2009.2 with CAD integrations for Autodesk® Inventor® and SolidWorks®. Furthermore, the latest version hyperCAD® 2009.1 will also be on show with its many new and intelligent features for an even more efficient design process.
At EuroMold 2009, OPEN MIND Technologies AG will demonstrate its product portfolio including CAM systems, CAD software and CAD-integrated CAM solutions for integrated and powerful process chains in tool and mould making, design and product development. Notable highlights from OPEN MIND in Hall 8.0, Stand N01:
hyperMILL® in Autodesk® Inventor®, hyperMILL® for SolidWorks®. The highest level of flexibility in the CAD environment thanks to the integrated use of the leading technology in the CAM software: The new hyperMILL® 2009.2 release now allows users of various CAD platforms to access the full range of functions of hyperMILL® 2009.1. The highlights include, for example, the optimised fast travel concept, structured job lists and job linking. These and many more features help to reduce costs and allow users to work even more efficiently.
Thanks to the integration, the user interface of the CAM application takes on the ‘look and feel’ of the CAD software. This increases the speed and efficiency of CAM programming in the familiar CAD environment, while also preventing errors and reducing the user’s overall workload.
The CAD-integrated OPEN MIND solution has just been certified by Autodesk Inc. for use with Autodesk® Inventor® 2010. The CAD software provider has thus confirmed the full integration and data associativity of hyperMILL® for its CAD suite.
The CAD integration of hyperMILL® for SolidWorks® was approved as a “Certified Gold Product” by the Dassault Systèmes SolidWorks Corp. due to its seamless integration, quality and interoperability.
The new OPEN MIND release hyperCAD® offers a plethora of intelligent functions and extensions, which enable increased transparency and fast, reliable designing, including:
Creating templates
Project-specific CAD environment: When creating a new model, all user-specific data such as layer description, colours or even pre-machined job lists can be set by default. This means that when the program starts all data is visible for every project.
Hiding all inner objects
This feature allows all non-visible elements to be selected and hidden from the model. The resulting model is more transparent and therefore easier to machine.
Colours in the solid
Flexible transition: Surfaces in a solid are assigned different colours. If the user switches between solid and surface models or vice versa, all colour information is retained.
“Reshape” functions
Transparency and efficiency: The new hyperReshape function allows STL data models to be modified. Holes can be closed, STL meshes can be reduced and boundaries can be selected in the STL mesh.
5axis milling with hyperMILL®. hyperMILL® provides a wide range of strategies for efficient and reliable 5axis milling. Simple programming with automatic collision control and avoidance ensure that neither the tool nor the holder collide with the workpiece during the machining process. In addition to the standard strategies, hyperMILL® integrates forward-looking solutions that can be used to mill even complex metal parts and to machine parts in a more efficient manner. With software packages for cavities, surfaces and specialised tasks, OPEN MIND offers an extensive range of machining operations that is unique throughout the world.
