NumerixExpert™
Simulation of store separation from the parent aircraft requires capability in real time making of mesh and simulation. Complexity increases due to interference of aerodynamics of both the separating bodies. To perform these simulations Zeus has developed highly automatic meshing tool using the oct-tree approach. The oct-tree mesh can be generated within a minute on bodies of any complex shape or combination of shapes present in the domain.
Zeus has also developed a state of the art solver that uses the boundary immersed cut cell approach to reduce the effect of staircase (and resulting inaccuracies) in Cartesian grids. Once the aerodynamic characteristics are obtained the store is moved in time to a new location and new aerodynamic characteristics are found. The process is repeated till the time the store clearly separates from the parent vehicle and there is no chance of interaction.
Zeus is now integrating its state of the art CFD approach with its already developed DynamicsExpert™ for finding the full trajectory and orientation of the store during its flight envelope.
