Luuth van der Scheer, experienced executive in the process and infrastructure industries, new CEO; Martijn Janmaat to focus on growing BlueCielo organization and market presence in Latin America.
Rijswijk, The Netherlands – BlueCielo ECM Solutions, a global software company offering Engineering Content Management (ECM) solutions, announced today the appointment of Luuth van der Scheer as the company’s new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). As an experienced and well-respected chief executive van der Scheer brings more than 30 years of leadership experience in the infrastructure and process industries. Van der Scheer has been named CEO to support the next phase of growth in BlueCielo’s strategy. Martijn Janmaat, also a major shareholder of the company, will focus solely on the Latin American market and remain as President.

Martijn Janmaat has led the company since June 2005 during a phase of successful strategic repositioning and rapid expansion. He has decided to hand over the corporate executive responsibilities in order to lead the company’s strategic growth in Latin America. “With the appointment of an experienced CEO such as Luuth I am able to focus on our markets offering the biggest growth potential in the world – Brazil and the rest of Latin America,” said Martijn Janmaat.
Prior to joining BlueCielo ECM Solutions, van der Scheer served as CEO of HITT NV. HITT is a publicly listed international company in the Euronext Amsterdam stock exchange focusing on traffic management and navigation systems in the marine and aviation industries. Under the leadership of van der Scheer the company profitably grew from €15 million to €30 million. HITT experienced strong international expansion serving markets in Europe, UK, North America, and China. Van der Scheer was CEO from 1999 to 2007. Since 2007 he has been a strategic consultant and interim manager. Van der Scheer began his career by Hoogovens, which later became Corus, a leading steel manufacturer. Here he held a number of leadership positions including general management roles in international markets such as Canada and Belgium.
