To Increase Competency of the Indian Process Industry by Strengthening Skills of Process Engineers.
Pune - Honeywell Automation India Limited (HAIL) today announced its partnership with Equinox Software and Services Pvt. Limited, an Indian organization with expertise in providing specialized training services in Information Technology, Process Engineering Design and Plant Operations software space.
HAIL will partner with Equinox to increase the competency of Indian process engineers and chemical engineering students by providing specialized training programs, easy access to the best simulation technology, world-class training material and experienced trainers.
Vimal Kapur, Managing Director, HAIL said, “People skill development is a key requirement to fuel economic growth of India. This partnership adds to our several existing commitments & offerings in this area and we look forward to receiving the support of the Indian Process Industry to make this a great success.”
A compelling driver for continuous investments in employee training is the rapidly shrinking “half-life” of knowledge. In a twist on Moore’s Law, which holds that the capacity of a computer chip doubles every 18 months, experts believe the knowledge required by employees to perform their jobs will increase at a corresponding rate. This implies a need for staff training every 18 months or so.
Pure training however, though critical in the overall learning scheme, often falls short of meeting its objective by being more theoretical than practical. The Honeywell-Equinox Training Programs will bridge this gap by providing a hands-on learning experience through its staff of industry consultants who bring real world examples of concepts and applications to the classroom.
Speaking on the occasion Alok Pandit, Director, Equinox Software & Services Pvt. Ltd. Said, “Equinox is very excited with this development. We view this partnership as a strategic development not only for the two companies but also for the Indian process industry as this will certainly have far reaching impact in increasing the competitive edge of the Indian process industry in the years to come”.
