Award recognizes innovative use of visualization in scientific and engineering research
BELLEVUE, Wash — Tecplot, Inc. today announced the establishment of the Visualization in Scientific and Engineering Analysis (VISEA) award as part of its long-standing “Tecplot on Campus” academic program.
“Discoveries in science and engineering that stem from the academic community play a critical part in the advancement of any industry,” said Mike Peery, president and CEO of Tecplot, Inc. “With that in mind, we’ve created the VISEA Award to foster and support such advances and reward innovative thinking.”
The annual award will be given by June to one student from each of the company’s site license partner schools in the U.S. and Canada. Winners will be selected by the school’s administration and faculty based on their creative and groundbreaking use of visualization as part of their research. Each recipient also will receive a $500 prize.
For more than 15 years, the “Tecplot on Campus” program has sought to promote innovation in engineering research by providing engineering students of all levels with the most advanced data visualization and CFD analysis tools available. A list of over 30 participating schools can be found at http://tecplot.com/solutions/academic/siteLicensePartners.aspx.
