Siemens PLM Software-Sponsored Race Teams Take Top Six Spots

PLANO, Texas — Siemens PLM Software, a business unit of the Siemens Industry Automation Division and a leading global provider of product lifecycle management (PLM) software and services, today announced Siemens PLM Software-sponsored race teams Hendrick Motorsports, Joe Gibbs Racing and Roush Fenway Racing – whose cars are developed with the help of Siemens PLM Software technology – combined to win the top six spots at the NASCAR® Sprint Cup Series Race at Martinsville Speedway.

Hendrick Motorsports driver Jimmie Johnson, a two-time Cup Champion and the current Chase leader, won the race with teammates Dale Earnhardt Jr., Jeff Gordon and Casey Mears coming in second, fourth and sixth respectively. Roush Fenway Racing driver Carl Edwards took third place and Joe Gibbs Racing driver Denny Hamlin came in fifth.

As a result of this strong finish, Siemens PLM Software sponsored race teams have now won five of the first six Chase for the Championship races, and Johnson and Roush Fenway Racing driver Greg Biffle hold the top two spots in the point standings, respectively.

Biffle won the first two races at New Hampshire Motor Speedway and Dover International Speedway; Johnson won the third race at Kansas Speedway in addition to race at Martinsville; and Joe Gibbs Racing driver Tony Stewart won at Talladega Superspeedway.
