Vero Software Plc Celebrates 20th Anniversary
Vero Software Plc today announces the 20th anniversary of its formation. Vero began on October 27th 1988 in a farmhouse in Northern Italy with just the founders and two employees producing CAD/CAM software. Today the UK public company listed on the AIM section of the London Stock Exchange is a leading supplier of software to the mould and die sector headquartered in Cheltenham, UK and with further offices in Italy, France, USA, Canada, Japan and China. The group now has more than 7,000 users registered for its annual maintenance services and supplies products to more than 40 countries through its wholly owned subsidiaries and competence centres.
Offering well known product brands such as VISI, machining STRATEGIST, SMIRT and PEPS, the company produces software for aiding the design and manufacturing process in specific sectors of the industry. The specific sectors include the design and manufacture of plastic injection moulds, sheet metal stamping dies, multi axis machining, progressive dies, shoe moulds, electrode production and many others. These widespread product types are in turn to be found in a multitude of manufacturing industry sectors such as automotive, electronic, medical, white goods and aerospace.
Gerry O’Driscoll, Research and Development Director and one of the original founders says “Twenty years ago PC based multi axis machining and plastic flow analysis was unthinkable and yet today these same technologies provide everyday benefits to tens of thousands of our users. Our sustained success and uninterrupted growth has been achieved by building very practical solutions based on the comments and suggestions of active customers”.
The company firmly believes that step gains in productivity can be made by building as much knowledge of specific design and machining processes within its software as possible. This philosophy of productivity through specialisation has led to the development of many new cutting edge applications.
Don Babbs Chief Executive and also one of the original founders commented “Most small companies have the sales experience of hearing a customer question as to whether they will be around in a few years time. Very few companies achieve the satisfaction of growing their revenues every year since inception and being around twenty years later when most of the so called giants in the sector have long disappeared. The ever present skill and dedication of our staff, many themselves very long serving, have built the Vero Software company to where it is today and beyond the lifetime of many better known CAD/CAM companies”.
In conjunction with the 20th anniversary, Vero are pleased to announce the latest release of its flagship product VISI. Version 16 is a substantial release with many new features in all areas of the product, including an updated user-interface, new surface modelling technology, 3D bend development and multiple enhancements to both 2D and 3D CAM.
