Best of breed notification and flexible, extensible dispatch uses Intergraph's Interoperability Framework based on Microsoft® BizTalk®.
Intergraph Corporation has announced a partnership with MIR3, Inc., the innovator of real-time Intelligent Notification™ and response technology that will integrate the widely used Intergraph Computer-Aided Dispatch (I/CAD) software with the SaaS-based MIR3 Intelligent Notification platform. This combination brings I/CAD users a highly flexible and extensible dispatch and notification solution using the Microsoft BizTalk-based Intergraph Interoperability Framework.
By integrating MIR3 Intelligent Notification features into I/CAD, dispatchers are able to send event-specific notifications to first responders, command staff, emergency volunteers, allied agencies, and non-public safety personnel at the same time, using multiple communication devices including landline, mobile phone, short message service (SMS), email, and even TTY. Notification recipients have the ability to respond—for instance, with message confirmation or indicating the need for emergency medical services—giving dispatchers critical information in real-time.
Through the partnership with MIR3, Intergraph's Interoperability Framework extends the dispatch notification process beyond interagency walls, allowing agencies to alert the external population from I/CAD. Civilians will be able to subscribe to regional emergency notifications through a hosted registration portal, giving utilities and public safety officials a centralized way to communicate with interagency personnel and external citizens during crisis situations.
In addition to the technology integration between Intergraph and MIR3, the partnership allows Intergraph to resell inEnterprise™, the MIR3 industry-leading hosted Intelligent Notification software, in conjunction with I/CAD for public safety and security agencies and I/CAD-based InService solutions for utilities. Through this agreement, the Intergraph/MIR3 solution delivers business-rules-based, CAD-driven notification capabilities to organizations, as well as the citizens and customers they serve.
"Customers can now leverage Intergraph's Interoperability Framework to drive targeted and mass notifications from I/CAD as part of the emergency or utilities dispatch process to improve information-sharing, reduce response times, and signal awareness among citizens," said Steve Marz, vice president of public safety strategy and business development, "We've tightly integrated I/CAD with the MIR3 notification infrastructure, which offers a unique, hybrid model that combines two leading technologies into a seamless application."
"This partnership makes a lot of sense for both companies and for the Intergraph customer base," explained Rene Grossrieder, vice president of worldwide channels and alliances at MIR3. "Integrating notification and response capabilities directly with I/CAD will benefit first responders, public safety organizations, and other public and private agencies by giving them direct communication with constituents, warning them of impending safety issues and providing a meaningful way for individuals to respond. It's a formidable advancement in public safety technology."
The importance of advanced notification services to support public safety in emergencies was recently highlighted when New York City and Washington, D.C., announced the rollout of the Personal Localized Alerting Network (PLAN), a federally mandated national public safety notification infrastructure implemented by the FCC and FEMA, with national rollout to be complete by April 2012. State and local governments will augment PLAN capabilities with their own local notifications infrastructures.
