Engineering Technology Associates, Inc, the industry leader in innovative CAE solutions, announces the release of finite element modeling software eta/VPG Version 3.4. This version features the debut of an integrated linear static and dynamic solver, NISA, which allows users to easily create and visualize advanced simulations within the eta/VPG environment.
Continuing the journey to surpass its pricey competition, eta/VPG aims to provide product development engineers world-wide with the most accurate and complete simulations for expert insight into their designs. Product Manager, Tim Palmer explained, “With this latest release, 63 new or improved functions, as well as the availability of the NISA solver will make VPG the most robust, versatile and accurate system-simulation solution available.” More new features
ETA’s software development team continues to incorporate user suggestions, extensive benchmarking and customer survey data into its software products. New features include additional advanced meshing tools that allow engineers to quickly develop meshes on complex surfaces, as well as a new capability to import and export basic ANSYS model formats.
Palmer commented, “eta/VPG offers five dynamic and powerful modules which are currently being used in a variety of industries world-wide. These modules allow users to access the many capabilities of the LS-DYNA simulation software, in an environment tailored to their industry. Our tools were once used primarily in the automotive industry, but the practical uses have proved countless and are now being used to make aerospace components, trains, buses, commercial trucks, military products, packaging and consumer electronics safer, lighter-weight and more efficient.”
eta/VPG’s commanding PrePost module boasts the most advanced modeling tools available, allowing the user to create complex finite element models faster than ever before. It offers an advanced toolset, outstanding auto-meshing tools and automated spotweld generation—within a zero text editing environment.
For mechanical system analysis, the VPG/Structure module includes tools to simulate road surfaces and tire models, as well as analyze vehicle dynamics, system and component durability and noise vibration and harshness (NVH) using LS-DYNA.
The VPG/Safety module is used extensively in the automotive industry for the modeling of vehicle impact analysis with a complete crash tool library, allowing for accurate vehicle impact, occupant safety and airbag simulations.
The Drop Test and ALE/FSI modules complete the vertical application tools within eta/VPG. The drop test functions are used for consumer electronics quality and packaging analysis. The ALE/FSI module is used primarily in military applications for the simulation of blasts and development of blast resistant vehicles.
