AMPS Technologies Co., a leading provider of finite element design & analysis software, announces the release of AMPS 6.0 for world-wide distribution. AMPS (Advanced Multi-Physics Simulation) is an easy-to-use powerful tool for solving all FEA(Finite Element Analysis) problems - from simple static problems to dynamics involving multi-physics; from small displacements of simple materials to very large displacements involving materials with nonlinear properties.
With significant improvements in ease-of-use and even more functionality, AMPS continues to offer a high-end, yet cost-effective solution for today's complex design problems.
New and improved features include:
• AMPS 6.0 new user interface now delivers clearer menus and more intuitive symbols, still driving powerful and elegant FEA.
• Models for FEA can be created in AMPS or imported from many other solid modeling programs.
• AMPS now provides both automatic and custom meshing tools useful to first-timers as well as seasoned FEA analysts. Simple parts or complex assemblies can easily and quickly be prepared for FEA using automatic meshing or Meta-Meshing, which utilizes highly regular hexahedral meshes to focus analysis on critical regions. Meshes can easily be revised or refined with only a few keystrokes; FEA can then be repeated without having to re-enter materials and/or boundary conditions.
• Forces, pressures, and other boundary conditions are now clearly visible on the model, with several new ways of easily disabling boundary conditions to do a quick check.
• AMPS solves contact/impact problems with ease. AMPS’ unique automatic contact checking now is further improved with an optional newest MLS (Moving Least-Squares) contact formulation for robust contact simulation.
• Material damage ability combined with automatic contact searching realistically simulates complex bursting/crashing. Expanded time-dependency-functionality reduces non-linear analysis frustrations.
• AMPS directly solves multi-physics problems seamlessly: fully coupled stress, flow, thermal, and electromagnetics, and other multi-physics problems can be completed in a single analysis module containing all physic variables.
• AMPS is now even faster, allowing more time for refinement and design optimization. Fully enhanced thread-pool multi-thread technology accommodates parallel computing multi-core/multi-CPU platforms automatically. The latest benchmark demonstrates that multi-million element models have a typical solution time of less than 5 minutes per million equations on a 32-bit platform; 64-bit AMPS solves even larger models up to system memory capacity with a commensurate increase in speed.
• Step-by-Step Tutorials and thorough help menus get the user using, and utilizing, AMPS quickly.
