VirtualGrid announces the availability of VRMesh v5.0 beta, the latest version of its powerful digital reconstruction software. The major upgrade in version 5.0 is the new VRMesh Forward module that helps users restore sharp edges between neighboring regions and create optimized NURBS surfaces from meshed objects, as well as support for IGES format exporting. The extended range of functionality is the perfect complement to the VRMesh family, enabling users to convert point cloud data into high-quality meshes, and recreate CAD-ready surfaces for further manipulation in downstream applications.
The VRMesh Forward module provides a step-by-step workflow to guide you through the entire design process, from intelligent wireframe curve detection to high quality CAD-ready NURBS surface creation. This greatly reduces the amount of time required to produce a NURBS model.
Other major enhancements in version 5.0 include: the point cloud data import has an ability to split a large dataset into small parts intelligently; increased accuracy for the remove redundant points command by adding a curvature factor; increased capability for handling high-noise data in the point cloud to mesh command; and best-fit mapping has been added to manual registration. There are other numerous improvements, please visit our What's new page for details.
A 64-bit edition is also available in v5.0. It allows users to take advantage of the expanded memory capacity of 64-bit computer systems to process huge datasets quickly.
With the launch of version 5.0, VRMesh has reached a new level of sophistication and power for 3D point cloud and mesh processing software. It provides users a high-powered and low-cost software tool which streamlines the digital design process.
