FM:Systems CEO and founder recognized for industry leadership and education support
RALEIGH, N.C. – FM:Systems, a leading provider of integrated workplace management systems (IWMS) and computer-aided facility management (CAFM) software, today announced that Michael Schley, FM:Systems founder and CEO, has been named to the International Facility Management Association’s (IFMA) 2008 class of IFMA Fellows.
Established to recognize members dedicated to IFMA and the facility management profession, the fellowship program creates an elite core of respected leaders who act as advisors and ambassadors for the association. Being named an IFMA Fellow is the highest honor the association can bestow on a member.
“Mike is a tireless supporter of IFMA and its recognized university programs with no other agenda on his part other than advancing the profession and making facility managers more productive,” said Cheryl Waybright, CFM, IFMA Fellow and Senior Project Development Manager for LEVEL5. “He operates his business and provides support to FM professionals and IFMA with the utmost integrity and humility. He has made a phenomenal contribution to our profession by bringing industry leaders and sometimes competing organizations together to agree on standards such as IFMA and BOMA Area Measurement Standard and CAD Layer Guidelines.”
To date, only 79 individuals have been recognized as IFMA Fellows. Collectively the elite core of Fellows represents the most esteemed facility management professionals, distinguished authors, prolific academicians and leading facility management visionaries.
“It is an honor to be included among such a prestigious list of leaders in the facility management profession,” said Schley. “I look forward to serving as an IFMA Fellow for many years to come.”
IFMA is the world’s largest and most widely recognized international association for professional facility managers, supporting more than 19,000 members in 60 countries. The association’s members, represented in 125 chapters and 15 councils worldwide, manage more than 37 billion square feet of property and annually purchase more than US$100 billion in products and services. Formed in 1980, IFMA certifies facility managers, conducts research, provides educational programs, recognizes facility management certificate programs and produces World Workplace, the world’s largest facility management conference and exposition.
