Special session by ITI TranscenData to focus on 3D validation
Loveland, CO : Longview Advisors, organizers of the annual Collaboration & Interoperability Conference and Exhibition (CIC), today announced an additional workshop to its 2009 agenda, hosted by ITI TranscenData. The free post-conference session, “Model Validation: 5 Steps to Risk Avoidance and Cost Reduction,” will present a systematic approach to shoring up 3D data quality.
The fifth annual CIC event brings together experts and executives from a broad range of discrete manufacturing industries, as well as representatives from the government and defense communities, to discuss the latest strategies and solutions in collaboration and interoperability. The only vendor-neutral conference in the world addressing these critical topics, the CIC provides a unique opportunity to interact, learn, and share experiences with thought leaders of the industry. The conference and exhibition takes place May 18-20 in Estes Park, Colorado. Full event details are available at www.3DCIC.com.
Doug Cheney, Product Manager for ITI TranscenData’s CADIQ Validation Technology and a Senior Interoperability Consultant, explains “As companies implement model-based engineering during this economic downturn, it is critical to avoid schedule delays and cost overruns caused by hidden quality problems. CAD model validation enables early detection and resolution of those problems which are related to the master model data.”
In the extended afternoon session on the final day of the 2009 gathering, Cheney will advise organizations on five steps to minimize these risks and extra costs due to inconsistent 3D data. His presentation will detail the available methodologies, and how each match typical business cases, specifically addressing the consideration of manufacturing uses, engineering changes, current translation practices, post-migration legacy data, and long-term archiving.
Cheney calls CAD validation a “mission-critical topic” for today’s manufacturers. “This workshop will help attendees begin assessing the significance of model validation for their organization, and potentially avoid huge waste and cost."
