Capabilities Include the Use of Optimization to Refine Model and Control System Parameters for Increased Model Accuracy and Improved Control System Performance.
NATICK, Mass : The MathWorks today announced the availability of Simulink Design Optimization, which gives modeling and control engineers the ability to automatically optimize Simulink model parameters.
Together, Simulink Design Optimization, Simulink, Simscape, and Simulink Control Design provide a powerful modeling and control design environment that enables engineers to create plant models, calibrate these models with test data, and use them to design, simulate, and optimize control systems.
With Simulink Design Optimization, modeling engineers can calibrate models with test data directly, bypassing time-consuming trial and error methods. Simulink Design Optimization lets control engineers use optimization algorithms for automatic controller parameter adjustment to meet system performance requirements.
“We are continually looking for ways to ease the design process for users,” said Paul Barnard, marketing director for design automation at The MathWorks. “With Simulink Design Optimization, we are simplifying complex parameter optimization, enabling engineers to quickly create more accurate models and better control systems.”
Pricing and Availability
Simulink Design Optimization is available immediately. U.S. list prices start at $1,000.
