DP Technology, an innovative leader in the computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) sector and author of the ESPRIT® CAM systems, recently signed an agreement with Spatial Corp., a leading provider of 3D software components for technical applications, to extend the use of Spatial’s InterOp Suite, which delivers the highest level of interoperability between CAM and computer-aided-design (CAD) formats, in its ESPRIT CAM software.
ESPRIT 2009 and ESPRIT Mold v10 will both include Spatial’s InterOp Suite as a standard feature of the product line. ESPRIT uses InterOp to support the direct native transfer of ACIS-based CAD data into the ESPRIT CAM system. Additionally, in ESPRIT Mold InterOp is used for a variety of optional CAD data translators.
“Utilizing this new technology, ESPRIT will now offer significantly more interoperability capabilities within the software,” said Chuck Mathews, DP’s vice president. “We now support more than 15 different CAD formats within ESPIRT, including the ability to directly read native CAD data from Autocad, Catia, Inventor, Pro/Engineer, Solid Edge, SolidWorks, and Unigraphics.”
Existing ESPRIT customers with active software maintenance contracts will receive these upgrades at no additional cost as part of their existing service agreement with DP Technology.
“We are very pleased to be partnering with DP Technology to provide their ESPIRIT CAM software customers a full suite of proven and reliable translators,” commented John Alpine, Spatial VP of Research and Development. “Spatial’s comprehensive InterOP Suite delivers the highest quality data exchange between CAD and CAM formats.”
