Irvine, CA: MecSoft Corporation, the developer of VisualMILL, RhinoCAM, VisualMILL for SolidWorks and other computer aided manufacturing (CAM) software solutions, has announced that all of its Windows programs are compatible with Microsoft’s latest operating system, Windows 7, which is slated to be released on October 22, 2009.
MecSoft’ Product Manager, Uday Honnalagere states that “MecSoft’s CAM products have been fully tested under Windows 7 and work flawlessly - right from the install process to actually running the products”. He adds that “Compatibility of our plug-in products will be dependent on the CAD host system - so if the CAD program is Windows 7 ready, our plug-ins (AlibreCAM, VisualMILL for SolidWorks, RhinoCAM, etc.) will work without any glitches.” Windows 7 is the latest version of Microsoft Windows, a series of operating systems produced by Microsoft for use on personal computers, including home and business desktops, laptops, net-books, tablet PCs and media center PCs.
Unlike its predecessors (XP and Vista), which introduced a large number of new features, Windows 7 is intended to be a more focused, incremental upgrade to the Windows line, with the goal of being fully compatible with applications and hardware with which Windows Vista is already compatible.
