Materialise, a European leading rapid prototyping and manufacturing service bureau, has announced the launch of the durable Accura® Xtreme Plastic on their stereolithography machines.
Jurgen Laudus, International Sales Manager of Materialise Industrial Services said,"With the addition of Accura® Xtreme to our material range we want to show to our customers that we continually strive to offer components with improved durability. What is striking about the material is its high elongation, impact resistance and moderate modulus, resulting in stereolithography components with the look and feel of durable moulded plastics."
The outstanding toughness and durability of the material offers Materialise the opportunity to deliver a new type of high-quality form, fit and function prototypes in stereolithography.
Accura® Xtreme Plastic has a very good impact strength (0.45 J/cm) which, combined with an elongation at break of up to 22 percent, makes it ideally suited for a wide range of prototyping and manufacturing applications including tough enclosures, snap fit assemblies, consumer electronic components and alternatives for CNC machined parts.
