NEWTON, MASSACHUSETTS (USA) - Caliper Corporation has announced the release of TransModeler 2.6. The new version of TransModeler builds upon the tremendous successes of TransModeler 2.5, which was used and continues to be used in a wide variety of projects in the United States and around the world in 2009 and 2010. TransModeler 2.6 improves upon nearly every aspect of the software, the most notable of which include the following:
* Improved driver behavior algorithms in the presence of incidents and message signs signaling a road closure
* Additional calibration tools for visualizing and analyzing route choices
* Expanded compatibility with Synchro
* Faster running times for route choice and dynamic traffic assignment computations
* Expanded support for detector variables in traffic signal controllers
* New and improved local parameter options to help capture unique localized driver behavior phenomena
* Improved import of TransCAD planning models and centerline-based road networks, reducing the scale of effort needed to add the requisite geometric detail for simulation
* New and improved support for more varied high occupancy/toll lane pricing algorithms
* Better support for pedestrian crossings
Version 2.5 saw a number of large-scale applications all along the California coast from San Diego to Eureka, as well as in New York, Kentucky, Maryland, Indiana, and elsewhere, including several cities in China. Additionally, TransModeler was used on a variety of ground-breaking applications, including one of FHWA's Integrated Corridor Management Systems Program sites, multiple large-scale HOT lane projects, and a unique city-wide simulation model of Eureka, CA.
TransModeler 2.6 benefits from the feedback generated by those experiences and promises to make traffic simulation an even more accessible and less costly tool for decision-making to a continually expanding base of users.
