Delcam has announced that the company recently added its 1,500th customer in China; Zhejiang (Taizhou) Jianli Mould Co., Ltd. To mark this landmark achievement, Jiang Fang, General Manager of Zhejiang Jianli, was presented with a plaque by Her Majesty’s Ambassador to China, Sebastian Wood CMG, during the UK Advanced Engineering China Showcase held in Shanghai on 23rd and 24th June.
Zhejiang Jianli is based in Taizhou in the Zhejinag province to the south of Shanghai. This is a major toolmaking centre, with many hundreds of mouldmakers based in the province. Zhejiang Jianli has added Delcam’s PowerSHAPE design software and PowerMILL five-axis CAM system to help the company to be even more successful in this highly-competitive environment.
Like many other toolmakers in the region, Zhejiang Jianli mainly supplies moulds for the production of plastic components for the automotive industry. As with all automotive producers around the world, Chinese manufacturers demand shorter lead times and higher quality. The company is confident that the Delcam software will help to meet these requirements.
Zhejiang Jianli is also planning to diversify into other industries, especially the machining of aerospace components. It expects that the five-axis capabilities of PowerMILL will give the company the potential to be successful in this new area.
The UK Advanced Engineering China Showcase was organised by the UK Government to present the best of British advanced engineering to Chinese companies. It followed similar events in Brazil last year and in India during 2008. Delcam was chosen to take part in all three of these showcase events.
The China Showcase featured presentations from many leading UK engineering companies, including Airbus, Rolls Royce, GKN and Renishaw. Delcam Marketing Manager, Peter Dickin, spoke about some of his company’s recent customer success stories as part of the Technical Panel Session on Efficient Manufacturing.
