Users Can Create Native Siemens NX CAD Models Directly From Geomagic Studio 3D Modeling Software.
RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C - A technology preview of Parametric Exchange for NX, a feature that enables users to create native Siemens NX CAD models directly from Geomagic Studio software, is now available for downloading and evaluation on the Geomagic Labs website.
Geomagic Labs is a community website that provides early access to new technologies, innovation and product concepts before they appear in commercial Geomagic 3D software.
“The customer response to Parametric Exchange in Geomagic Studio 11 was so positive that we decided to expand it to include NX, which is widely used in the industries we serve, especially automotive and aerospace,” says Karl Matthews, director of product management for Geomagic. “We’re excited to preview the latest version of Parametric Exchange for customer evaluation and feedback.”
The intelligent connection to CAD
Parametric Exchange for NX provides an intelligent connection between Geomagic Studio and Siemens NX to enable automatic native reconstruction of geometry from scan data. With Parametric Exchange for NX, users can quickly and easily create optimized, parametric CAD models, complete with model trees that are editable in NX.
Geomagic is the only 3D modeling software to offer this seamless integration with four major CAD packages, making it easier and faster for the majority of users to create fully parametric CAD models from scan data. Parametric Exchange for SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor and Pro/ENGINEER are currently available in Geomagic Studio 11.
Geomagic Studio 11 allows users to capture design intent, enabling physical objects to be modeled as they were originally designed with a combination of primitive shapes, swept features and freeform surfaces. This greatly reduces the time required to bring physical forms into the digital realm for applications such as product design and reverse engineering.
