Tata Technologies becomes Exclusive Reseller of vdR Group's Partrieve PDI solution

ORANGE, California - The vdR Group, Inc. has announced that Tata Technologies has been selected as the exclusive North American representative of Partrieve. Partrieve is the industry's leading Product Data Intelligence (PDI) solution that delivers immediate user productivity, optimizes design and information reuse, accelerates time-to-market, and reduces cost of ownership for manufacturing and/or engineering companies.

Partrieve v5.0 helps users find and access part and product data that reside in multiple and disparate repositories, applications and various content formats within an enterprise. It extends on the simple concept of what users have grown accustomed to via various search engines for the web. Users want a quick and easy tool to find part data regardless of where it is. Partrieve builds on this paradigm and further adds powerful interactive discovery and analysis tools.

"Our customers leverage a variety of applications to support their product lifecycle activities. Now for the first time, users will be able to find and access part and product data without having to know where it exists" says Sam Abu-Hamdan, Aerospace Business Development Director, Tata Technologies. "This is going to be huge time saver and will ultimately drive a significant and measureable cost savings to our customer's bottom line."

Partrieve unifies and aggregates part data independent of its source, format, language, units of measure, etc. Data can exist in an unstructured format, like flat electronic files, or structured format like computer aided design (CAD), electronic content management (ECM), enterprise resource planning (ERP) and product lifecycle management (PLM) solutions for example. Formats can include documents, spreadsheets, media files, and CAD drawings.

"Tata Technologies have impressed us with their solutions-oriented focus. We are very excited to be partnering with a company of this caliber and presence in the market," says Martin van der Roest, President and CEO of The vdR Group. "They are the leaders in understanding and delivering engineering and design services, product lifecycle management, and enterprise solutions. Their organization is all about solving customer problems. The addition of Partrieve is an ideal complement to this focus."

Via a single point of entry, Partrieve allows users to quickly access and identify the nature of part and product data and their relationships, visualize various content and drawings, and pursue actionable options. Data sources and applications are treated as they exist in their current form. This "as-is" approach eliminates the need to move, repurpose, scrub, data warehouse, and/or convert legacy data, documents and drawings in order to make use of them.

"Improving design and information reuse will be one of the immediate benefits customers can expect with Partrieve," says Martin. "Numerous analyst studies show time and again that creating a new part can cost an organization tens of thousands of dollars over its lifecycle. We believe Partrieve can help users find what they already have. If this means a few percentage points savings against the overall cost of goods, then this will no doubt drive bottom line value."

Partrieve is immediately available and will be sold via Tata Technologies.
