NUESKU Announces 3D Product Prototyping Capability

NUESKU a retail packaging specialist, announces 3D product prototyping capability Mockups can be built up to 10" x 10" x 12" tall.

Burnsville, Minnesota - NUESKU, a division of Packnet LTD, announces 3D product prototyping capability. By using a Dimension FDM system, an exact dimensional mockup of any product can be created. Mockups can be built up to 10" x 10" x 12" tall. The product is made out of a durable light weight ABS plastic. Quick turn capability is available for this service.

This capability has many applications; including testing dimensional compatibility of product components and giving actuate visual representations for design decisions. It can even be used to make tooling for custom formed packaging. Some examples of parts that have been mocked up include components of a lawn mower, moving pulley parts, and even gears and bolts that can be assembled to simulate sophisticated products with moving parts. All that is needed to create the part is an electronic CAD/STL file.

Most design decisions are made up-front in the first phase of the design process.
"Most design decisions are made up-front in the first phase of the design process." Said Rob Handberg. "Typically the first 10% of the product development process affects about 80% of the products total cost."

Typically, designers and engineers rely on 3D CAD software at this stage. Significant challenges arise using only a computer screen or color printer output to communicate the true design details to management, marketing, vendors and others on the design team. Functional 3D models, created on a Dimension, enable the design team to make better informed decisions, resulting in fewer changes, better product designs and lower product/production costs.
