SHEFFIELD: Sheffield-based MachineWorks Ltd, supplier of CNC simulation and verification software solutions has released MachineWorks™ v6.6, which includes a completely new high-performance graphics engine.
Performance is a recurrent feature on CAM developers wish lists. MachineWorks' latest release has achieved a significant improvement in the speed of the simulation thanks to our efficient new graphics engine. Version v6.6 allows not only OpenGL to be supported but also DirectX10.
Some of our partners have commented favourably on the speed of the new version: "After porting to the MachineWorks 6.6 libraries we were amazed at the speed of the simulation as compared to the 6.5 libraries. Many test cases were run with an average speed improvement of 35%, with some test cases running 5 times faster", says Bob Schultz from NCCS, a 5-axis CAM solution provider. www.nccs.com
