Powerful Capabilities on Display Include Advanced 3D With HSM and SolidWorks Interoperability
MOORPARK, California : Cimatron Limited (NASDAQ: CIMT - News), a leading provider of integrated CAD/CAM solutions for the toolmaking and manufacturing industries, announced that Gibbs and Associates, the developer of GibbsCAM®, its software for programming CNC machine tools will demonstrate GibbsCAM 2009 at Booth #313 during the SolidWorks World 2009 Conference. The conference is being held from February 8th - 11th, 2009, at the Walt Disney® World Swan & Dolphin Resort in Orlando, FL. Every year SolidWorks World brings together designers, engineers, managers, and partners to discuss ideas, trends, and the technology shaping the future of mechanical product development. This marks the eleventh consecutive year that Gibbs and Associates has participated at SolidWorks World. GibbsCAM is a SolidWorks Certified CAM Product.
The demonstrations will include GibbsCAM 2009's new capabilities including Advanced 3D with HSM which is available to all SolidWorks users who have SolidSurfacer. Also on display will be GibbsCAM's powerful interoperability with SolidWorks allowing users to go "from model to metal in minutes."
SolidWorks users who need to machine their parts will find that GibbsCAM is a simple and powerful solution. "Once again, we look forward to showing SolidWorks users just how easy it is to manufacture their parts with GibbsCAM," states Bill Gibbs, president and founder of Gibbs and Associates. "From job shops, to rapid prototyping environments, to in-house design/manufacturing groups, GibbsCAM provides the best value, best-in-class manufacturing solution for SolidWorks users. Going from model to metal just doesn't get any easier."
Users can go from the model in any of several ways.
- GibbsCAM can directly read native SolidWorks part or assembly files,
including imported data, with the ability to select between various
configurations.
- The SolidWorks-to-GibbsCAM transfer add-in allows models to be directly
transferred with a single menu selection within a SolidWorks session to
GibbsCAM for NC programming. This enhanced interoperability approach is
very effective for handling a family of parts.
- GibbsCAM's macro capabilities can access and utilize a SolidWorks
part's design table to automate creating CNC programs. If one or more
values in the design table are modified, GibbsCAM can make adjustments
to the process and update the corresponding toolpath.
With these seamless capabilities, SolidWorks parts can be manufactured without fear of losing valuable geometric information. And GibbsCAM's associativity accommodates design revisions, an everyday occurrence in the design/manufacturing process.
