BELLEVUE, WA - UC4 Software has announced a completely automated, end-to-end solution to accelerate the creation of system copies for SAP® applications with up-to-date business data. The new solution integrates UC4 Automated System Copy™ with HP StorageWorks System Copy Software, both designed for use with SAP applications. It enables customers to make system copy part of their overall application automation strategy, shorten SAP data refresh cycles, improve efficiencies and lower costs related to the system copy process.
Many IT departments are copying their production systems, including SAP applications, on nearly a monthly basis. The system copy process typically requires coordination among multiple administrators and has a large number of manual tasks. Execution is sequential, one job at a time, with no centralized view into copy status.
UC4 software combined with HP technologies enables customers to integrate storage into the overall system copy process for SAP applications. The solution:
* Automates all system copy processes from a single point of control
* Copies SAP production data in minutes instead of hours, independent of the data volume
* Monitors processes, checking results and alerting administrators to errors in real-time
* Runs reports in parallel, reducing execution times from three-to-five days to one
* Improves production and target system uptime
"Automation delivers huge value across the enterprise -- whether physical, virtual or cloud. The time and cost savings automation delivers for system copy are particularly dramatic," said Vincent Stueger, CTO, UC4 Software. "UC4's automation technologies with HP hardware and software are making it possible for customers to virtually eliminate errors, and significantly reduce overall system copy time."
The new system copy solution for use with SAP applications is available immediately from UC4 or HP.
