IES opens office in India to support Blossoming Simulation analysis & Green Building Market

LEED-India VE-Toolkit Reduced to £240.

Glasgow, UK: Integrated Environmental Solutions (IES), a provider of integrated performance analysis software and consulting services for sustainable building design, is delighted to have opened an office in Pune, India. Employing six new staff the office will support IES’ growing software customer base in the country, and add LEED-India, GRIHA (Green Rating for Integrated Habitat Assessment) and additional architectural experience to IES’ international consultancy division.

The office will be headed-up by Rohan Rawte, the new Country Manager, who brings over 10 years experience in software, IT and Mechanical Engineering to the table. He will be assisted on technical support by Vajindar Laddad, Software Tester/Technical Support Administrator and with office management by Nikhil Bhosale, Business Support Administrator.

The three new consulting staff include: Srushti Chitnis, who joins as Project Team Leader with 12 years experience in the field of environmental and sustainable architecture, and LEED AP status; IGBC AP Nilesh Deshpande who joins as Project Consultant and Energy Analyst and is an experienced senior design engineer and consultant in the fields of green building, LEED certification, ECBC (Energy Conservation Building Code) and ASHRAE compliance; Renuka Shinde a recent Sustainable Design Masters graduate from the University of Pune with 2 year’s architectural experience who will join as Junior Project Consultant.

“The green building movement in India is growing fast, and so is interest in our products and services,” commented Dr Don Mclean, Founder and Managing Director of IES. “The Indian Green Building Council’s aim is to facilitate India emerging as one of the world leaders in green building by 2015. The IES Virtual Environment suite of integrated performance simulation and analysis tools aids designers significantly in achieving modern energy-efficient structures, and is considered by many the world-leader. Consequently our consultants are also respected experts in analysis as part of an integrated green design process, having worked on prestigious projects such as Heathrow Terminal 5 and Wal-Mart.”

Rohan Rawte, Indian Country Manager for IES added; “I am delighted with this move. It is a clear indication of the commitment of IES for the Indian market. We are the only software house now, in this domain, providing dedicated sales, support and services for the Indian market locally. It gives our customers easy reach and access to a world-class team. It also allows us to step-up operations quickly when required so that we can develop tools or provide service offerings to our customers for local rating systems.”

As part of its Virtual Environment software suite IES offers tools which automatically evaluate performance against key LEED-India credits. The IES VE-Toolkit for LEED-INDIA and VE-Gaia Navigator for LEED-INDIA offer a variety of automated credit assessments across daylighting, comfort, water and renewable elements for both the New Construction v1.0, and Core and Shell v1.0 schemes – ultimately allowing the user to make informed design decisions using performance data throughout the entire design process.

The VE-Toolkits offer quick, indicative, early-stage feedback direct from SketchUp, Revit and ArchiCAD architectural models. Answers are received with just the press of a few buttons. VE-Gaia, with its step-by-step smart navigation, delivers a clear route through the analysis process, from modelling to reportage, to understanding. It provides the ability to add and manipulate exact building data for later design stages and produce reports suitable for LEED-INDIA submissions.

To celebrate IES is slashing the price of its LEED-India VE-Toolkit to £240 for a Stand Alone licence – it can be ordered online at http://www.iesve.com/Software/VE-Toolkits.
