Farmington Hills, Michigan – CCE announces the release of ODX/3DPDF, C++ API to generate 3D PDF files from native CAD data, independent of Adobe software. ODX/3DPDF expands the ability of CAD/CAM ISV’s to provide 3D PDF output seamlessly from within their user interface. ODX/3DPDF is a component of CCE’s flagship Open Data eXchange (ODX) suite of libraries.
CCE has also updated its middleware component technology, Oceans SDK (OSDK), with the ability to export 3D PDF files. This feature will be especially useful for PDM/PLM companies, who can leverage Oceans SDK to generate 3D PDF files for collaboration applications. Oceans SDK gives the power to generate 3D PDF files from the CAD data assets stored in the PDM/PLM systems without any dependency on Adobe suite of products.
“The benefits of 3D PDF files are pretty well documented. But up until now, creation of 3D PDF data was tightly integrated with Adobe software. With ODX/3DPDF, CCE has enabled all CAD ISV’s to create 3D PDF documents from native CAD data without access to Adobe software. This is a significant achievement that broadens the scope of CCE technology to empower collaborative applications”, says Vinay Wagle, CCE’s V.P. Sales & Marketing.
CCE specializes in creating CAD software development toolkits for CAD ISVs, and also for use in its own data translator & viewer products. Applications developed using ODX or OSDK are completely independent of any form of CAD software or licensing. Besides the recent 3D PDF support, CCE’s technology already provides support for all major CAD formats including CATIA (V4 & V5), NX, SolidWorks, Pro/ENGINEER, JT, Parasolid, IGES and STEP.
