COSTA MESA, Calif — SYSPRO, a provider of visionary, pragmatic ERP software, has today announced that Lockmasters, Inc., a Nicholasville, KY–based provider of tools and equipment for the security professional, has selected SYSPRO to replace its ineffective legacy software. According to Charles Hunter, Lockmasters IT Manager, the company had been using two AS-400-based software systems which lacked integration and which were outdated, cumbersome and inflexible. “We considered upgrading to newer versions of the software, but the cost of upgrading was equal to that of a new, fully integrated ERP package,” he says. “Plus, we wanted a Windows-based solution to facilitate the seamless integration of other Window-based solutions.” Another important consideration, notes Hunter, was software that could handle contract pricing and support the sale of stock items on line via a website engine with real-time, integrated business-to-consumer and business-to-business shopping cart capabilities.
After reviewing a list of 15 available ERP solutions, including Microsoft, SAP, Epicor and others, Hunter called for proposals from several and subsequently requested demonstrations.
“We liked SYSPRO functionality, including the availability of the SYSPRO Web-ordering solution CyberStore, but we also appreciated the opportunity to do a test-run of the software,” he says. “Following a very thorough SYSPRO demo, we were also delighted by the ability of SYSPRO personnel to provide immediate answers to our questions.”
Hunter is looking to SYSPRO to provide real-time integration between the company’s manufacturing and distribution operations, particularly, to the software’s ability to accurately cost all orders, including shipping weights and totals. He is also anticipating the savings from having real-time access to up-to-date company financials. Plus, he feels that the integrated SYSPRO CRM (Customer Relationship Management) software and SYSPRO CyberStore will enable Lockmasters to speed order turn around and better serve new, as well as existing customers.
Hunter summarizes: “We believe SYSPRO will speed all company processes, plus provide management with the ability to perform analyses that will help resolve problems and greatly enhance customer service.”
