AUSTIN, Texa — MLC CAD Systems announces it is providing software and services to support Ultra Electronics Nuclear Sensors & Process Instrumentation’s (NSPI) implementation of SolidWorks 3D mechanical CAD and simulation software. The international defense and aerospace company has purchased SolidWorks and SolidWorks Simulation tools in addition to training and implementation services from MLC CAD Systems.
Round Rock, TX-based Ultra Electronics NSPI offers products that range from custom-designed, high-volume temperature sensors for OEM applications to high-performance products for the nuclear power generation and industrial automation markets. Ultra Electronics’ products deliver critical measurements for the nuclear power and energy industries. The company’s temperature and pressure sensors and fiber-optic converters and switches are used in nuclear, process automation and control, and aerospace and military applications.
The company has built a successful niche in its market by offering its customers innovative, customized solutions to a wide range of platforms and programs. As the company has grown, it has recognized the importance of integrating advanced 3D mechanical design and simulation technology into its design process to cut design cycle time and improve efficiencies. Configuration management, advanced simulation functionality, photorealistic renderings of products models, and ease of migration from AutoCAD were among the company’s top criteria for a new design system.
Picking the Right Partner is as Important as the Right Solution
Ultra Electronics ultimately chose to partner with MLC CAD Systems, a SolidWorks Value-Added Reseller with offices throughout the Southern U.S. and headquartered in Austin, TX, to help the company implement SolidWorks 3D design and simulation software and to ease the transition from AutoCAD.
