Cost-Effective Offerings Empower Individual Civil Engineers and Project Teams to Meet Resurfacing, Restoration, and Rehabilitation Needs of Transportation Industry.
EXTON, Pa. – Bentley Systems, Incorporated, a company dedicated to providing comprehensive software solutions for the infrastructure that sustains our world, today announced the immediate availability of Power InRoads and Power GEOPAK. These extensions of InRoads Suite and GEOPAK Civil Engineering Suite – the long-proven design standards for departments of transportation (DOTs) across the United States and Canada – include Bentley Map functionality and integration with ProjectWise Navigator V8i and other ProjectWise collaboration services. Bentley Map functionality powers precise geospatial data creation, maintenance, and analysis, while integration with ProjectWise connects people with information and facilitates collaborative workflows. Power InRoads and Power GEOPAK also feature all the drafting and document production capabilities of MicroStation, without the need for a MicroStation license. These cost-effective, single-product offerings empower civil engineers, including designers for roads, bridges, and drainage, planners, surveyors, environmental engineers, and others, along with project teams, to meet the resurfacing, restoration, and rehabilitation needs of the transportation industry over the infrastructure lifecycle.
Ron Gant, Bentley global marketing director, said, “Power InRoads and Power GEOPAK are comprehensive new software offerings featuring a full complement of high-performance tools for civil, transportation, and site design. Each combines, in a cost-effective product, powerful 3D civil information modeling, rules-based design, analysis, drafting, and visualization technology with document production and powerful geospatial information system capabilities for infrastructure. This gives individual civil engineers as well as project teams the functionality required to tackle everything from survey data acquisition and reduction to road and site design, drainage design and analysis, drafting, rendering, virtual drive-throughs, and mapping.”
Power InRoads and Power GEOPAK are especially suited for evolving construction technologies. Each enables transportation designers to more quickly and efficiently work on road and bridge projects such as those funded through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA). Patented Roadway Designer functionality built into the software provides innovative tools for civil information modeling and advanced techniques for automated machine guidance, keeping engineers and designers in control visually, graphically, interactively, and dynamically throughout the project lifecycle.
Gant continued, “These software products offer unsurpassed technology for sustaining transportation infrastructure. They enable civil engineers to leverage information across the design-build-operate lifecycle through extensive data reuse. The additional deployment of ProjectWise collaboration services empowers project teams to quickly access files, improve quality, more effectively and efficiently manage change, and share work collaboratively.”
Power InRoads and Power GEOPAK feature full DGN and RealDWG support to overcome reuse challenges and optimize design, engineering, construction, and operations, and include all of the new V8i (SELECTseries 1) enhancements to InRoads and GEOPAK. Among these enhancements are innovative tools for overlay, milling, and resurfacing, and the incorporation of data acquisition, advanced geometry, visualization, drafting and drawing production, and customizable context-sensitive interfaces. The V8i (SELECTseries 1) releases of InRoads and GEOPAK also provide for the creation of Bentley i-models – containers for open infrastructure information exchange – and incorporation of i-model mark-ups to complete the bi-directional feedback loop and deliver comprehensive workflow optimization, for on-time and on-budget project delivery.
