Lantek has upgraded its Lantek Expert Duct v28 solution to automatically calculate duct figures, enabling machine technology to be perfectly combined with customers’ programming and management requirements.
The new version of this module, the development of which Lantek has been working on with both cutting and punching machine-tool manufacturers and users, stands out for being a very intuitive tool, designed so that users only have to follow the steps indicated by the system. It also incorporates a powerful architecture that enables the figure to be automatically developed, by simply selecting the part required and entering the data in the system. It also has quick figure editor that makes it even easier to use is now available.
“With the improvement of our HVAC and duct application, we don’t just want to optimize our product range, by adapting it to the sector’s requirements, but also to help make jobs easier and more precise for users, enabling them to increase their productivity levels and improve their competitiveness”, remarked Karmelo Osa, Product Manager for Lantek Expert
Lantek Expert Duct has an extensive library of duct figures and parametric parts which meet the European DIN 18.379 building regulations and cover practically all the parts used in the metal and sheet metal processing industry, like square-to-round, cones, cylinders, boiler making figures, tube intersections, etc.
This solution also stands out for the flexibility and high degree of configuration it offers. So, by meeting duct requirements, this application enables users to establish from the types of fibre on which to carry out calculations, to the types of joints used between the parts, the number of sections used, the types of marking for the cutting machines, seams, connections, etc.
More functions for greater precision
In order to optimize both the product and the users’ experience, Lantek Expert Duct incorporates improved features in the following areas:
* 2D design: can be integrated with a 2D CAD module to design any part, as well as geometrically modify the contours. It also makes it possible to cut the flat pattern based on the space available on the sheet metal.
* Part management: all the parts are saved in organized databases.
* Calculation of weight and actual costs: the solution is able to calculate the weights, cutting perimeters and costs of the material necessary.
* Smart importer / exporter: Expert Duct can connect to common CAD systems on the market as well as import neutral files such as DXF, DWG and IGES.
* Integration of all the options: all the options of Lantek Expert Duct are fully integrated with the other modules in the Expert family in a single program. So any modification to a part directly affects the nesting and the cutting sequence.
* Production management: the application facilitates management tasks, as it can integrate with ERP by automatic process.
* Teamwork: Lantek Expert Duct is ready to operate in stand-alone mode or installed in a local area network.
* Reports: the system generates different types of reports based on the tasks to be processed, such as 1:1 scale report to directly cut the part from the sheet metal; geometric reports for the development of essential points; design of important shapes page by page; reports of parts, labels or frames, among others.
In addition to these features, it is also worth pointing out that Lantek Expert Duct offers specifications for high definition duct figures, making it a really ideal solution for the HVAC sector, enabling the user to establish aspects like deflectors, libraries of seams, connections, flanges, etc.
