Oakville, ON, CANADA —Forming Technologies Inc. (FTI) the industry's leading developer of solutions for design, simulation, and costing of sheet metal components, today unveiled FASTFORM MultiStage. FASTFORM MultiStage utilizes a hybrid analysis approach (Finite Increment Technology {FIT}) that combines the ability to quickly determine blank shapes with the detailed process analysis of incremental solvers. The new breakthrough technology runs 1 to 2 orders of magnitude faster than traditional explicit and implicit incremental solvers that are on the market today.

"FASTFORM MultiStage is ideally positioned for the layout of multistage forming processes," said Michael Gallagher, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, FTI. "As many of our customer's components are manufactured in multiple forming operations, the design of flanges and extrusions becomes critical. These types of applications as well as trim line development and quoting for multistage operations, are a perfect fit for our FASTFORM MultiStage solution and it is a great new tool for the part designer and process engineer."
