PITTSBURGH, PA and FRANKFURT, GERMANY - ALGOR, Inc., a leading provider of design, analysis and simulation software, and e4e engineers for engineers GmbH, an international consulting firm for engineering products and standards (and an ALGOR Authorized Reseller), jointly announced that e4e will demonstrate new ALGOR V23 software at the 15th annual EuroMold, the world fair for moldmaking and tooling, design and application development, being held December 3 - 6, 2008 at the Exhibition Centre in Frankfurt, Germany. EuroMold 2008 will bring together more than 60,000 trade professionals to learn about the entire moldmaking process chain as indicated by the fair's theme, "From Design to Prototyping to Series Production."
As one of nearly 1,700 exhibiting companies from around the globe, e4e will show how ALGOR finite element analysis (FEA) software can help companies virtually test and predict real-world behavior of new and existing product designs, speed up time to market and make better, safer products at a lower cost.
"EuroMold is Germany's largest annual forum for FEA, simulation and virtual reality," said Ron Schneider, e4e Chief Executive Officer. "This year, our goal is to make ALGOR highly visible to attendees from all over the world."
"At EuroMold 2008, attendees will see free demonstrations of how our full suite of analysis and simulation tools fits their needs including a wide range of structural analyses and complex multiphysics simulations," said ALGOR Product Manager, Bob Williams. "We will also be demonstrating the new features of V23 to show how they provide ALGOR users with increased power, flexibility and ease-of-use for simulating engineering analyses of their product designs."
ALGOR FEA features an easy-to-use single user interface, FEMPRO®, which provides direct CAD/CAE data exchange and full associativity with most CAD solid modelers. This allows engineers to simply choose the analysis tools they need, giving them access to ALGOR's wide range of simulation capabilities including: static stress and Mechanical Event Simulation (MES) with linear and nonlinear material models; linear dynamics; fatigue; CFD including steady-state and transient heat transfer, steady and unsteady fluid flow, mass transfer and open channel flow; electrostatics; full multiphysics; and piping.
ALGOR's latest FEA software, V23, provides new and improved features including:
-- "Smart" bonded contact uses multi-point constraints to bond the
surfaces of unmatched meshes, making hand-built models easier to tie
together and CAD models easier to mesh
-- Models created in ThinkDesign from think3, Inc. can be opened in ALGOR
for fully associative analysis
-- A new utility generates vertices and beams to replace non-essential
surfaces, thereby reducing model size and promoting faster analysis
-- Additional material models (Ogden and Mooney-Rivlin hyperelastic and
viscoelastic) for membrane elements expand nonlinear analysis capabilities
for rubber materials
-- In fluid flow analysis, multiple prescribed velocities can be defined
using separate load curves for increased control and flexibility
-- Expanded implementation of the multifrontal massively parallel solver
(MUMPS) for distributed memory systems on both Linux and Windows clusters,
using both in-core and out-of-core memory for faster solution of linear and
nonlinear stress and fluid flow models
-- Improved 2-D steady fluid flow analysis, now applying all the
capabilities of the 3-D processor to 2-D models including faster solution
for fluid flow with high Reynolds numbers and turbulence
-- Stress and strain results for midside nodes can now be displayed,
providing additional data for examining model behavior
-- Beam code checking for Mechanical Event Simulation (MES) to verify
compliance with the industry-standard AISC ASD structural code
-- Improved report generation including the ability to save selected
results directly to the report as a customizable appendix
-- And much more.
