Jewellery Design and Technology Institute sets up its second institute at Chandigarh

Chandigarh : Chandigarh Jewellery Design and Technology Institute sets up its second institute at Chandigarh The first of its kind Jewellery Design institute in Chandigarh Jewellery Design and Technology Institute (JDTI), part of the Bombay Stock Exchange listed Silver Smith India Ltd., today formally announced the beginning of their operations at Chandigarh. JDTI imparts training for jewellery designing and manufacturing and the Chandigarh centre is centrally located at sector 35-C.

JDTI is supported by World Gold Council and promoted by the Indo-German Export Promotion Project implemented by the Gesellschaft fuer Technische Zusammenarbeit (GTZ, German agency for Technical Co-operation) facilitating technology transfer from Germany for selected India companies. The operations of the JDTI institute were formally inaugurated by Mr. B.K Narula, Chairman & Managing Director, Silver Smith India Ltd, along with Ms. Ritu Malik, Chief Operating Officer, Silver Smith India Ltd.

Speaking on the occasion Mr. B. K. Narula said 'Not very long ago, Chandigarh was considered the fashion capital of the country. The time has come again when we should start thinking about the quality of fashion education in the city. I think this is the right time to start our operations in the city, where people are highly creative and have strong aesthetic sense". "JDTI will not only provide the right direction with basic jewellery designing courses but will also expose the designers to the international trends so that their creative and artistic skills match the global standards", adds Mr. Narula.

Some of the courses which will be available at JDTI, Chandigarh institute are Jewellery Designing, Gemmology, Diamond Grading, Jewel CAD, and Jewellery Retailing.
