Chennai : Barry Wehmiller International Resources (BWIR) announced today its first annual engineering design contest, 'Design Ace 2009'. The contest targets the engineering students across Tamil Nadu and will offer awards worth INR 75,000 and three months paid internship at BWIR, a global leader providing business and technology solutions to the manufacturing domain.
"The competition is an effort to promote and encourage design capabilities among the engineering students in Tamil Nadu. The competition will be conducted in two rounds:
* Submission of one innovative design of choice by the participating team and a design for a business problem provided by BWIR, along with a short write-up for shortlist procedure.
* The short-listed 20 teams will travel to Chennai and present their models in front of a jury to culminate in the top 3 teams.
The competition will be judged by the expert members of BWIR along with other eminent leaders from the industry of global information technology and engineering consulting solutions.
