hyperMILL® Performance Displayed at Performance Racing Industry show

OPEN MIND Technologies USA Inc will present hyperMILL® 9.7 at the Performance Racing Show in Orlando, from December 11-13, in Booth 5005. The Performance Racing Show is the annual gathering for racing, power, and performance professionals and enthusiasts.

OPEN MIND will be demonstrating its hyperMILL software, both in its hyperCAD or standalone environment as well as integrated in SolidWorks.

hyperMILL provides a broad set of machining strategies, including 2.5D, 3D, HSC, and 5-axis solutions.

OPEN MIND offers a comprehensive feature / macro technology set to add intelligence to CAD models and simplify programming, and also to store proven manufacturing data making it available for re-use on future similar applications. Programming macros can be single jobs or sequences of jobs, and can be applied to 2.5D, 3D, and 5-axis routines.

The 5-axis strategies include surface-based routines like swarf milling and top milling, and surface-independent "cavity" routines that create non-interfering tool orientations with an automatic mode, or by using a reference curve as an influencing factor for tool orientations. All solutions have collision detection and avoidance routines, that simplify the programmer's task and provide greater throughput and spindle utilization.

In addition to the set of general 5-axis strategies, OPEN MIND has a series of dedicated solution kits that match the user needs for performance racers. Some of these speciality applications include tube machining for porting cylinder heads or producing intake manifolds, multi-blade package for turbochargers and turbines, and a tire-mould utility kit.

OPEN MIND develops custom postprocessors that take advantage of machine and control capability, as well as offering the hyperVIEW machine simulation utility that includes material removal, collision checks with machine components, and a best fit utility.
