COADE Schedules February 18 CAESAR II User Group Meeting in Houston

HOUSTON - COADE announced today that the next CAESAR II User Group meeting is scheduled for February 18, 2010, in Houston, Texas, with presentations by product development and other team members led by David Diehl, VP Customer Experience, Mandeep Singh, senior engineer involved in vessel software, and Vornel Walker, VP Marketing. Topics will cover updates included in CAESAR II version 5.20 build plus an introduction to the recently released new CAESAR II Loop wizard.

The first CAESAR II User Group meeting held in November drew 50 engineers and other users of CAESAR II. Coordinator of the group is Dharam Arya, PE of Mustang Engineering, Houston, Texas. The user group’s mission is to encourage end-user cooperation in the development of best practices in pipe stress analysis among CAESAR II users. The steering committee makes decisions regarding future meetings and other means of communications and sharing of best practices.

COADE Releases CAESAR II Version 5.20 Updates

HOUSTON - COADE announced today the publication of an article in the October 2009 issue of Hydrocarbon Engineering magazine titled Plant Design for the People that discusses the democratization of plant design that is occurring globally, led in large part by the collaborative intelligence of intuitive automated tools such as COADE’s plant design and engineering solutions.

The article, written by Gary Carson of Equamark, Houston, Texas, points out the benefits these new affordable and easy-to-use tools have brought to virtually all parts of the world by making powerful plant design and engineering analysis tools available to designers and engineers everywhere.

Prior to the introduction of the CADWorx Plant Design Suite and CAESAR II for pipe stress analysis, the article notes that the only solutions for automating plant design were complex and costly programs that only the largest multinational owner-operators and engineering/construction firms, located in the most highly developed parts of the world, could afford to buy and to train their people to use effectively.

The democratization of plant design and engineering has brought down the cost and greatly expanded the availability of automated plant design and the collaboration between design and engineering disciplines, thereby benefitting companies and economies and improving the quality of life for citizens throughout the globe.

COADE’s Sonia Delgadillo to Present at SPAR on February 9 on How to Turn Point Clouds into Intelligent 3D Models

HOUSTON - COADE announced today that Sonia Delgadillo, senior applications specialist at COADE, will be presenting a technical seminar at 9:00 a.m. on February 9, 2010, during SPAR 2010 that will discuss how to easily build intelligent, specification-driven 3D plant models from laser scan data, all within the unified AutoCAD environment.

The seminar, titled “COADE moves heaven to earth – Point Clouds to Intelligent 3D Models”, will highlight how the same 3D model can be used to automatically create such deliverables as fabrication isometrics, plans, sections, elevations and complete bills of material. Also included will be a demonstration of the time saving bi-directional link between CADWorx plant design and CAESAR II, for pipe stress analysis.

The seminar will feature CADWorx fieldpipe for Leica CloudWorx, developed for the back office creation of accurate as-builts from point cloud data. Included are ISOGEN Isometrics, CADWorx Plant Professional, CADWorx Design Review, live database links, links to stress analysis, specification-driven modeling, collision checking and intelligent point-cloud-to-modeling capabilities.

Intergraph® Acquires COADE®

Acquisition expands Intergraph’s SmartPlant® Enterprise suite by adding COADE’s leading stress analysis solutions.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala - Intergraph has acquired COADE® Holdings Inc., provider of CAESAR II®, PV Elite™ and TANK™ products, the industry’s most widely used software for pipe stress, pressure vessel and storage tank analysis, as well as its popular CADWorx® plant design suite.

The strategic acquisition of COADE is Intergraph’s largest in the process, power and marine market. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The acquisition will expand Intergraph’s SmartPlant® Enterprise engineering solution suite by bringing together the world leaders in plant design and pipe stress analysis. The expansion of Intergraph’s SmartPlant Enterprise design, construction and data management solutions with COADE’s analysis offerings creates a powerful software solution that will provide users in the marketplace with unmatched capabilities.

The acquisition of the Houston-based software provider also extends Intergraph’s market presence and ability to serve smaller projects with COADE’s CADWorx solution, a modular, AutoCAD-based 3D plant design system. Intergraph is ranked as the No. 1 worldwide 3D design and process engineering tools (PET) provider according to the PET Worldwide Outlook Market Analysis and Forecast through 2013 by the ARC Advisory Group.

COADE’s customers will benefit from Intergraph’s large research, development and global support teams located around the world and specializing in engineering solutions. COADE clients will also receive uninterrupted support, maintenance and software upgrades as part of their maintenance agreement with Intergraph. Existing SmartPlant Enterprise clients will benefit from the expanded functionality offered by COADE’s products as Intergraph enhances product integration and migrates the COADE analysis solutions into SmartPlant Enterprise to leverage design and modeling with pipe and vessel analysis. COADE announces PV Elite 2010 Webinar Scheduled for January 19

HOUSTON - COADE announced today that a webinar on PV Elite 2010 is scheduled for January 19, 2010, 12:00 noon CST when participants will learn about enhancements to PV Elite 2010, the company’s popular software for pressure vessel and heat exchanger design and analysis. Webinar leader will be Scott Mayeux, director of development for Pressure Vessel and Exchanger Solutions at COADE. COADE Releases PV Elite 2010 with Updated ASME and WRC Vessel Analysis Codes

HOUSTON - COADE announced today the release of PV Elite 2010, an updated edition of the company’s popular software for pressure vessel and heat exchanger design and analysis, now with ASME Section VIII Div. 1 and Div. 2 updates for the 2009 addenda.

Other code-related additions include WRC Bulletin 297 options for local analysis, u-tube tubesheet analysis per EN-13445, Kopp and Sayer expansion joint analysis and many other code enhancements.

International enhancements include the addition of seismic codes for Venezuela (PDVSA) and Chile (NCh2369), updates to the Australian wind and seismic codes, and additional input echo language options including Portuguese, Spanish, French, German and Italian.

New productivity features in PV Elite 2010 include new capabilities for modeling and analyzing ear and perpendicular lifting lugs, enhancements for minimum design metal temperature (MDMT) analysis and reporting, and improved compatibility with Microsoft Window 7.

COADE releases Video Demonstrating Plant Design and Engineering Collaboration, Completing a Model in Less Than 20 Minutes

HOUSTON - COADE, Inc. has posted a video of the live demonstration of plant design and engineering collaboration that was featured during the 2009 COADE User Conference keynote by Thomas J. Van Laan, PE, the president and CEO of COADE.

The demonstration, which involved completing the design and analysis of a plant model in less than 20 minutes, highlighted the unique advantage offered by COADE's integrated plant design and plant engineering solutions that improves collaboration by seamlessly passing information between various stakeholders during the design process.

This saves man-hours while reducing errors and eliminating much of the re-design work normally associated with plant design.

The collaborative demonstration was performed by Van Laan with John Brinlee, sales development manager, COADE Plant Design Solutions, and Chris Schiller, technical sales, COADE Plant Engineering Solutions. Featured products were the CADWorx Plant Design Suite, CAESAR II for pipe stress analysis and PV Elite for vessel and exchanger design and analysis.

COADE to demonstrate New Pipe Support Module in CADWorx Plant Professional 2010 in Webinar on Nov 5th

HOUSTON - COADE, Inc. announced today a webinar scheduled for November 5, 2009, at 12:00 Noon CST to demonstrate the new Pipe Support Module now included in CADWorx Plant Professional 2010.

Led by Mark Bross from Anadarko Petroleum, the session will demonstrate this modeler that allows the user to develop pipe support assemblies for real-world applications using multiple support primitives, and save these for future use.

Drafting manager for Anadarko Petroleum, Bross has 37 years in the petrochemical industry and is experienced in plant layout and piping design using various software applications.

He has been using the CADWorx Plant Design Suite for the past 10 years and was an instructor at the 2009 COADE User Conference in Houston.

COADE Releases TANK Version 3.20 with API Code Updates

HOUSTON - COADE announced today the release of COADE TANK Version 3.20, an updated edition of the company’s popular software for designing and analyzing oil storage tanks that incorporates code updates in API-650 11th Edition Addendum 1, and API-653 4th Edition.

TANK incorporates full analysis and design capabilities for wall thickness, materials, supported cone roofs, seismic requirements, service and maintenance considerations, bottom plate thickness, nozzle flexibilities, shell settlement, wind girder requirements and allowable fluid heights.

Also included are extensive built-in materials databases plus databases for structural steel, seismic curves and nozzle curves from current and past API specifications.

COADE expands it's social media channels with Facebook and Twitter

HOUSTON - COADE announced today the launch of the COADE Facebook and COADE Twitter accounts, further expanding the company’s social media channels for communicating with its global network of dealers and with users of the company’s integrated software solutions for plant design and engineering analysis.

These products include the COADE CADWorx Plant Design Suite, CAESAR II for pipe stress analysis, PV Elite for vessel and exchanger design and analysis and TANK for designing and analyzing oil storage tanks.

Tighter collaboration between COADE PV Elite for Pressure Vessel and Exchanger Analysis and Dimensional Solutions Foundation3D

HOUSTON - COADE, Inc. and Dimensional Solutions, Inc. announced at the 2009 COADE User Conference tighter collaboration between Foundation3D from Dimensional Solutions and COADE PV Elite. During the conference, Dimensional Solutions also introduced improved model creation in its products Foundation 3D and Mat3D, enabling more accurate and complete underground mat foundation models that can subsequently be brought into the AutoCAD environment to allow COADE CADWorx Plant Design Suite users to design optimal underground designs specifically with regards to clash detection between foundations and underground systems.

Both Foundation3D and Mat3D require a minimum of effort to create spread, combined and/or mat/pile cap analysis and design of soil or pile supported foundations. Foundation 3D is ideally suited for the design of foundation supports for equipment such as vessels, towers and exchangers designed using COADE PV Elite. It interfaces with PV Elite to obtain accurate weights for operating, empty, test conditions, shear forces and moments from both wind and seismic loads, equipment geometry and anchor bolt information so that a civil/structural engineer can focus on completing foundation design quickly and accurately.

Mat3D is a comprehensive tool that quickly creates soil or pile supported multi-load point mat foundation designs. It produces accurate output in a matter of minutes, thereby delivering significant productivity gains in completing mat foundation designs. Because of this accuracy and speed, these foundations are available much more quickly in the design process, directly benefitting plant, piping, electrical and utility designers who are producing underground systems, such as would be the case with users of the COADE Plant Design Suite.

COADE's CAESAR II for Pipe Stress Analysis and ASD Pipe Support Optimizer to be Integrated

HOUSTON - COADE, Inc. and ASD Global announced today a collaborative initiative to provide an integrated approach to pipe support placement by allowing COADE CAESAR II and ASD Pipe Support Optimizer (ASD PSO) to work together. This product-level integration will allow ASD PSO to automatically place pipe supports into the CAESAR II pipe model for seamless and more efficient analysis.

The capabilities within ASD PSO are designed to automatically locate and select logical pipe supports for a piping design. The output from ASD PSO will greatly benefit both designers and engineers by allowing support information to be automatically passed to CAESAR II for stress analysis and, because of the seamless bi-directional links between CAESAR II and COADE CADWorx Plant, designers can quickly optimize support locations in the design, thereby maintaining the integrity of both the engineering and design.

COADE User Conference held at Houston with Keynote by Thomas J. Van Laan

HOUSTON: The 2009 COADE User Conference was conducted in Houston with a record number of countries and companies represented and with 60 classes scheduled on the use and application of COADE software products for plant design and engineering analysis, including COADE CADWorx, CAESAR II, PV Elite and TANK.

Held at the Woodlands Waterway Marriott in The Woodlands north of the city, the conference featured a golf tournament on Sunday and keynotes today by Thomas J. Van Laan, P.E., the president of COADE, and special guest performer Mike Rayburn, an award-winner speaker and entertainer known as the World’s Funniest Guitar Virtuoso.

COADE Releases CADWorx Equipment 2010 for Plant Design

HOUSTON : COADE announced today the release of CADWorx Equipment 2010, part of the COADE CADWorx Plant Design Suite, with support for AutoCAD 2010 in both 32-bit and 64-bit versions plus new capabilities such as an ANSI flange look-up table for body flange components and a new insulation feature.

Other new features in COADE CADWorx Plant Design Suite 2010 include enhancements in CADWorx Plant Professional such as a new pipe support modeler for user-defined intelligent pipe supports, an ISOGEN Version 9.3 update, several new steel shapes, and a new feature that allows you to create a steel model from external live database information.

New capabilities in CADWorx P&ID Professional for producing process and instrumentation diagrams include tools to selectively match values of database columns from components selected and tools to select database values inherited from the process line during component selection.

COADE Releases Updated CADWorx Plant Professional Training DVD

HOUSTON - COADE announced today the release of an updated video training course on DVD that contains the complete five-day, in-class training course plus bonus material on using, customizing and mastering CADWorx Plant Professional software.

COADE Schedules CAESAR II Pipe Stress Analysis Statics Training for September 14-18 in Houston

HOUSTON - COADE announced that the next CAESAR II Statics pipe stress analysis training course will be on September 14-18, 2009, in Houston, Texas. Designed for managers, engineers and designers involved in piping design and stress analysis and held in COADE's state-of-the-art facilities, the course provides attendees with real world knowledge of static pipe stress analysis as well as how to use CAESAR II for cost effective piping design.
