Gunslingers Get It Right For Edgecam

Edgecam's latest 'Gunslingers' quality forum has ensured that the forthcoming release of the market leading metal engineering software remains the hottest shot in town.

The Gunslinger event is held in the run up to each launch of Edgecam’s latest release. Application engineers and a number of key end-users test out the updates and new applications in real life situations provided by customers. Any additional amendments are then made by Edgecam’s development team, and tested again.

Edgecam is one of the Planit group’s advanced software products serving the metal engineering industry. Hosted by Planit Solutions, at their new metals office in Forest Lake, MN home of Edgecam and Radan, Gunslingers featured the new functionality in Edgecam 2012 R1, and an Edgecam road map for future development. Amongst the enhancements are new and improved 3D machining strategies, improvements to toolpath associativity and operation editing/updating, solid viewing support for all modules, updated vertical application add-ins, new slot cycle machining on slot features, machine axis limit checking in simulator and support for programmable Tailstocks.

The Gunslinger event has proved to be successful many times in the past, in providing information for making sure that each new release of Edgecam helps customers take their business to the next level.

This latest event comprised Edgecam users Mike Williams, ECAD Inc.; Steve Roney, Roney Software; Victor Schott, ATS; Joe Sanders, M2 Technologies; Tony Guillory, Cameron; Randy Warkentien, Manufacturing Technologies Group; and Jim Treanor, Parker Hannifin, along with – from Edgecam – channel manager Domenic Lanzillotta; pre-sales support manager Adam Smith; special projects manager Rick Titus; and pre-sales application engineer Matt Murphy.
