FISHER/UNITECH, a product lifecycle management solutions provider, announces its acquisition of R&D Technologies, Inc.’s SolidWorks software business, which operates in New England and the state of New York. SolidWorks 3D computer-aided design (CAD) software provides best-in-class tools for product design, validation, technical communications and data management. R&D Technologies’ SolidWorks customers are located throughout the northeast and consist of manufacturing companies in all facets of discrete manufacturing. These customers will benefit from immediate access to new products and value-added services that will now be available to them from FISHER/UNITECH. Of particular importance to customers in the area will be the availability of Enterprise PLM modules that compliment the SolidWorks Enterprise PDM functionality.
“We look forward to serving the R&D Technologies customer and exceeding their expectations for support and technical leadership with their SolidWorks investments,” said Charles Hess, president of FISHER/UNITECH. “We believe our role is to also serve as their advocate to SolidWorks Corporation to effectively promote software enhancements that provide further gains in productivity.”
“Our decision to work with FISHER/UNITECH in this important transition of our company was based on our firm belief that it offers simply the best in support and service for the customers we have worked with for so many years,” said Andy Coutu, president of R&D Technologies.
Customers will have access to toll free phone, email and online support utilizing FISHER/UNITECH’s SupportExpress platform.
