Latest Content Management Product from Fishbowl Enhances Ability to Batch Load Content Created by 3rd-Party Systems into Oracle Universal Content Management.
MINNEAPOLIS: Fishbowl Solutions, a consulting services and software development company specializing in solutions for Oracle’s Universal Content Management and WebCenter products, has released Enterprise Batch Loader, a software application that provides an efficient and powerful method to check in file and data formats generated by third-party systems to Oracle Content Server.
Enterprise Batch Loader will help Oracle Universal Content Management (Oracle UCM) customers consolidate their enterprise data and content generated by various business systems into Oracle UCM, providing a single, central repository for the access and management of high-value information.
According to AIIM (Association for Information and Image Management), 80% of an organization’s information is unstructured and 90% of this remains unmanaged and continues to grow at roughly 36% per year. Organizations struggle with how to manage all the information created by their various systems, while workers are frustrated with not being able to easily find the information they need to do their jobs.
“Enterprise Batch Loader is another example of Fishbowl’s ability to design and develop software solutions that solve our customers’ content management challenges,” said Billy Cripe, VP Marketing at Fishbowl Solutions. “These challenges include the inability to easily consolidate information generated by ERP, CRM, CAD and other systems into Oracle Universal Content Management. Enterprise Batch Loader was designed specifically for this purpose, providing Oracle UCM customers with a complementary solution that further extends their Oracle UCM investment.”
Enterprise Batch Loader includes a highly configurable preprocessor that monitors a directory where third-party systems output files, such as Adobe PDF or Microsoft Word, and associated data, such as extensible markup language (.xml) or text (.txt). When these content types enter the directory, the preprocessor manipulates their data formats into a batch load file that contains the information Oracle UCM needs to perform a new check in, update the metadata for an existing content item, or delete all revisions of the content item. Once checked in, the content item can then be routed to workflow for review, rejection, or approval.
The preprocessor can also be directly configured with third-party business systems, such as Oracle’s JD Edwards and PeopleSoft applications, or Microsoft SharePoint. For these direct integrations, Enterprise Batch Loader not only monitors the directories and creates the batch load file for check in, but it also maps the metadata fields between the third-party file format and the fields existing within Oracle UCM.
