Top leaders of CAD industry gather in tenth annual meeting.
Scottsdale, AZ - Cyon Research Corporation, hosts of the Congress On the Future of Engineering Software ( COFES ), today welcomed attendees to the opening of the tenth annual industry event.
COFES fosters a unique conversation among the best minds of the engineering software industry in a relaxed and informal atmosphere. The three-day event brings together executives and engineers to discuss the most important issues facing both users and vendors of engineering technologies.
In many of the scheduled presentations, analyst briefings, and roundtable discussions, guest experts will touch on the theme of COFES 2009, Slipstreaming Innovation into the Mainstream.
“Innovation is an indispensible commodity in an engineering organization, but one that can remain elusive in an environment that fails to foster and sustain creative thinking,” explains Cyon Research President and CEO Brad Holtz “The underlying question this year is how can we make innovation part of standard operating procedures for engineering-related firms? We’ll learn the best practices from some of the most successful leaders in this area.”
One such leader is Chuck House, Executive Director of Media X, Stanford University's Industry Affiliate research program on media and technology. House’s opening keynote address, “Innovative Engineering for a Disruptive Time,” will examine how to identify innovators, and how to motivate them, and will outline the processes and tools that help to turn innovative thinking into successful products. House will also host an analyst briefing that opens the topic to the audience discussion.
COFES 2009 also introduces the Design and Sustainability ( DaS ) Symposium, a series of roundtable sessions over the course of COFES that explore the intersection of design, simulation, and sustainability for both the built and manufactured environment. The DaS Symposium showcases new ways design software can increase the visibility of sustainability issues at the design stage. Attendees are challenged to identify areas of common ground that may be best served by collaborative, rather than competitive solutions.
